Remember Me?

Well it has been a while since I last blogged and I lot has happened in 3 weeks! Sorry for the long post, I have a lot to catch up on.

David and I went with another couple, Mike and Tammie to Hilton Head Island to meet Ed and Michelle at their place there. I thought we would have fun, but we had a lot more than I figured. We all laughed and enjoyed ourselves so much that we are going back next year! We had a blast!

these guys were eating breakfast at Low Country, it was so fun and I loved how the guys were so excited

one night we played life-size Jenga

girls vs boys and the girls won!

having fun at the golf course

We got home and I met the counter top man and he installed a marble top on an antique dresser that I had gotten at an estate sale, but it had no top. It looks so much better!

On the 19th, I left to go to a spring retreat at Camp Blanding in Starke, Florida. I got to sew as much as my little heart desired! I needed to work on my 80 basket blocks for a swap that was due the first of May, nothing like waiting until the last minute! It was 8 of 10 different colors/sets. I only had 3 sets of basket bottoms done, so needless to say I had to get busy. After I got all the bottoms done, I set to work on my bias bars and then I had to hand sew 80 basket handles. Oh my word, that was my first time to do hand sewn handles and I hope I don’t disappoint them too much!

Heather makes Mohair animals, she made this one for me! meet Petunia!

these 5 sets are done

all done! this took forever!

I also worked on two small quilts. One was from a design that Paula worked up! I really like it. Here’s a picture of her quilt to give us motivation!

Here’s the other little one I made. I got the kit from Temecula Quilt Company when I was there in January. I like how it turned out too!

my Temecula basket, these were 5 inch blocks too

I sewed the papers on month 6, of Primitive Gatherings, Among Friends now just to cut them up. Next up was sewing up month 5 blocks! I got those stitched up just in the nick of time before it was time to pack up!

Among Friends progress!

I got so much done and I love this group of women!

Once I got home it has been a wild catch up, lucky for me, I have a wonderful and very supportive husband who is an awesome business partner! He took care of keeping me in the loop while I was away and I handled what I needed to.

Iron works are done on the stairs, cabinets are almost done and the shower is all in. It looks fabulous!

A few more little finishing touches need to be done and it will be time to move in!

I am so excited I can hardly stand it!

I am truly blessed; I hope you are blessed by your daily threads. Love and hugs,

Well that was well worth the wait. Your work is beautiful and the addition to the retreat house grounds is pretty. Can’t wait to come back. Host a retreat and let me know. Eager to learn new stuff. Hopefully would be able to find one person to travel with me. 1 year exactly til retirement for me.

You accomplish more than anyone I know that ever goes on retreats! You are obviously super organized or there is no way that you could get so much done. Do you precut everything before going to the retreat? I’m so amazed at your progress on all your projects.

    You do beautiful work. g

thank you, but I don’t “think” I’m that organized. Sometimes I get distracted and I don’t accomplish as much as I would like. I do “pre-cut” my projects and they are ready to roll and I high recommend doing that as cutting takes a lot of concentration and in big groups it is almost impossible or it takes at least twice the time!
      Hugs, Ronda
