Where to Start

How was your Valentine’s Day? Did you get candy or get to go out for dinner? I decided to cook dinner instead of us going out. I fixed a pasta shrimp dish that was I got ideas from while shopping at HEB grocery store. They had the goods going on Monday, ideas and tempting dishes all over the place. They even had chocolate covered bacon! Now I decided to only take a sample of that instead of getting a bundle but I did indulge in 6 chocolate covered strawberries! Oh, the chocolate covered bacon wasn’t bad, but I don’t really need another temptation! Ha!

Early Tuesday morning, by very first sewing buddy passed away, Sandy Evensen. She was such a kind, loving and a giving friend and one that taught me so much. We got to know one another very well; it is funny what one learns about one another while sewing together. Sandy was a great quilter and she will be missed dearly.

Since Sandy passed away, my Mom’s cousin passed away on the 18th and then on the 19th my former sister in law, Bonnie passed away. Bonnie’s passing was such a surprise and unexpected, someone else gone to soon.

I don’t know about you, but it sure seems like several people I’ve known lately are no longer here and I don’t like it one bit!

Time to change the subject! How is your “word” going? Did you choose a word to give you a challenge and push yourself to be more goal oriented. My word was “conquer” – it is going pretty good. Sometimes it seems a little ebb and flow, some days are better than others, but in the end it is all-good.

I’m still chipping away on my Primitive Gatherings, Triangle Gatherings blocks. I was up to date until she posted 14 and 15 last night. Oh well! 😉

I decided to pull out my Primitive Gatherings, Magic of Christmas and get to work on my setting and how I wanted to see it come together. I like how it is progressing.

Our monthly Jo’s group was today at the Painted Pony. I love this group and I appreciate how much effort Karen puts into it for us. She does a great job!

The addition is also progressing! We now have a roof and they are tweaking different things inside. This is what I have thus far.

I am truly blessed; I hope you are blessed by your daily threads. Love and hugs,

I enjoy piecing quilts and getting to know people, as well as sharing the information I have on sewing. I love the sense of accomplishment once I'm finished.
