Reunion Review

Sometimes I wonder if I’m a glutton for punishment, I do like to be busy, but I do have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew.

Last weekend we had our first ever Bible family reunion. David and I picked up Mom around 10 and headed north. We had a great time and almost all of the family showed up. I think we missed 6 family members, but they were there in spirit so the 36 of us talked about them. Ha!

We did have a few exciting moments, after all, how can 36 people gather around water and not have any excitement. It was especially nice that my brother, Grady and 2 of his kiddos joined us. His 2 girls sure enjoyed playing with all of their cousins.

The grandkids loved the lake, and Kyle, Brok and Joseph took them fishing and they really loved that or at least the minnows. Ha! Adley even caught a fish! I do think the biggest attraction was the boat! It wasn’t even moving and all my little ones had to go get on the boat with the help of Aunt Pattie and just sit and pretend to be driving. Kyle had attempted to escape us on the pier so he went to the boat, but the kiddos decided to follow him. It was kind of funny.

Later, Saturday afternoon, Joseph took Wyatt and Adley back to the pier to do a little more fishing so I decided to go down there and be with them. I was watching Wyatt and telling him to not drop his pole in the water and just a few minutes later, he did exactly that! In my wisdom, I tried to do a fast grab from off the pier, but all I managed to do was get wet. Then Joseph just dipped his pole in the water and grabbed it. Ugh – why didn’t I think of that! As I was getting up, I knocked the other pole in the water and Joseph had to retrieve that one too and then somehow I ended up getting his shirt caught with a hook. It was so eventful that I decided I had enough and I had better get back to the house.

About ten minutes later, Kyle comes from the pier up to the house with Adley and she is all wet and crying and very upset. Come to find out she had also dropped her pole into the water and “she” jumped into the water to get the pole. Thankfully, Joseph also got her out of the lake. Joseph had a big day of “fishing”.

Adley calmed down and she got a bath and extra TLC after that. Overall, all things went very well and it was very gracious of my cousin, Tanya and her husband, Don to share their lake house. Thank you so very much!

We got home Sunday afternoon and it was time to rest for a little bit.

I did get a little sewing in on my Primitive Gatherings, Magic of Christmas blocks. Lisa posted block 5 and of course, I had to comply and make it. I sure like the excitement that these little jewels bring.
