It is that time of the year when lists are being made and everyone is finishing off things that need to be done before Christmas. I wanted to share how my first wool class went. I offered a 2-part class where I taught a pattern by Primitive Gatherings, Nesting Time. The first class we cut out the background, traced all the pieces and started getting them cut out. They started working on placement and getting them stitching. The follow-up class was making sure the placement was good, going over stitches and how to finish up their tablemat. Some of the girls got to finish their project or was near finishing. It was a lot of fun.
Oh one note; I’m now carrying Valdani threads. They sure add a lot to our projects; so if you need any, just let me know. If I don’t have what you need, I can get it for you. I love working with them.
This time last week I was with my mom and 2 sisters at Disney World in Florida. We traveled in 2 pairs – we had the Houston team and the Dallas team. The Houston team of my mom and myself left our house at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday and getting up at 3 so we could be out the door at 4 as our flight left at 5:30 a.m. We didn’t have any hitches at the airport; I was hoping that there weren’t any long lines at security and we didn’t. I had TSA pre but Mom didn’t. Luckily all went well! I even got some stitching on my Primitive Gatherings, Nesting Time done on the flight over.
We arrived in Orlando and then headed to the Disney Magical Express area, which took us to Old Key West, and we got checked into our hotel. Mom got her scooter that she reserved and we got into our room.
We started off going to Epcot but we just wondered around until Pattie and Penny got there around 2:00 and stayed there until the park closed. We were able to take part of the candlelight processional that was narrated by Meredith Vieira, the choir and full orchestra was simply amazing. It was a great, very long day.
Sunday we went to Magic Kingdom and of course, we were there when the park opened and stayed until it closed at midnight, we had an amazing day and got rained on 3 times, but after the second rain, what is a little more. Ha!
Monday we went to Hollywood, there before the park opened to have breakfast at the Sci-Fi Drive-In and we did as much as we could before the park closed at 8. We got to see the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. It is the last year they are going to be on display and the lights were synced up to Christmas music. It was amazing. Mom road every ride we rode and we laughed and got our pictures made more than I ever have in my lifetime and not one of us complained about having to take a picture. We left the park and went to the Grand Floridian and saw their 17th annual gingerbread house, it was larger than a huge playhouse. It was incredible. We left there and went back to the room and started getting ready to go home.
Tuesday we went to Animal Kingdom and had another great day, it was a grand finale. Our adventure was a trip of a lifetime and we made many wonderful memories. Penny did a fabulous job getting us around the parks and booking our reservations at the restaurants, various events and getting our “fast passes”.
One side note, I ended up having trouble with a tooth during our trip to “Mars” on day one. I called my dentist on Monday and I had a root canal Wednesday morning, but it was all worth it, I think I’m still recovering from everything. Ha!
I am truly blessed; I hope you are blessed by your daily threads. Love and hugs,
