Maybe I ought to rename this as “bites and pieces”. I could, as much as I’ve been eating lately. I did have a couple of good days were I didn’t over indulge, but I’ve since made up for that. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I have plenty of leftovers; so if you need anything, let me know I might be able to share some. 😉
We had a wonderful family gathering; we missed having Brok, Candice, Hunter and Hailey with us. We had a nice feast, watched some football and managed to take some fun photos. My kids and grandkids are sure growing up!
After everyone left Thursday, I put my pajamas on early and kicked back. I did get to watch Wyatt and Kynlee while Katie and Joseph went black Friday shopping, they dropped them off Thursday night and they spent the night. I had more fun than K&J did!
I do have a lot of fun memories when Mom, Pattie, Penny and Myself would venture out to go Black Friday shopping when our kids were little. The rules were much simpler then, we just got up early to be at the stores at 6 then it went up to 5. We even dressed up in our Christmas attire and girded with sausage balls, pumpkin bread, sales ads (each our own stack) and all of our Christmas cds. In the early years we were even served donuts at Wal-Mart and Dad gave Mom the credit card to treat us to Loma Linda’s Mexican Food on Westheimer. We would be gone shopping all day and come home after dark. Those were the days, now thankfully my (30-40 cds) music is all downloaded on my mp3 and my sisters and I rarely gather in person, but we do in our minds.
Friday afternoon the only thing I managed to do was bend the fibers on the sofa and watch movies! I was not motivated to do ONE thing so I didn’t, but I sure enjoyed my day. As I went to bed last night I vowed to be accomplish something on Saturday!
Saturday I drove over to the Painted Pony and picked up my 3 quilts that Annette H did the binding on. Annette did a great job and if you need her services for binding, please contact me and I can give you her phone number. One of the quilts that Annette finished up for me was my Red Crinoline quilt, Carolina Lily. I love it; Denise G quilted it for me earlier this month.
I did get to buy some fabrics for my little Christmas tree swap today and I finally finished the center for my Cynthia Regone, Happy Harvest. It is all ironed, trimmed and I used my AccuQuilt to cut my red berries (circles). If all else fails, read the instructions. Wahoo!
I also drove over to the retreat house to see if any progress had been made. In the craft room the sink and the counter top was installed and the vanity in the half bath.
I am truly blessed; I hope you are blessed by your daily threads. Love and hugs,
Ronda
