I had full intentions to have a very productive today, but the window salesperson had something else in mind. Remind me the next time I get a sales person to come over I need to ask about how long the appointment is expected to be. My appointment was at 10 but it wasn’t until 10 that I found out he would be able to make it until closer to 11. I got there and the electricians were there finalizing some things for the inspection tomorrow. We went over a few things and a few things were tweaked and just in time for the window man to show up.
The window man was very thorough and he took all of his measurements and then proceeded to give his sales pitch. Everything had to go via his IPad and over the Internet and for some reason it took a long time for him to get all the windows entered in his system. Come to find out our house has 32 windows! I had never counted them up; I was guessing he would say 20, but NO. Aren’t we the lucky ones? Not to mention we will be putting 5 in the new crafting area. So our quote was for 37 windows. Oh my stars, the quote was way more than I thought it would be and he didn’t leave until after 4 p.m. He took way too long! I had planned on going sofa shopping and mattress shopping – that sure didn’t happen.
Just as I was leaving to go get us a bit for a late lunch, John our contractor came over and I ask him to stay so we could go over some things. He was very accommodating and it was good to vent about how long the window man took. I did need to make a trip to Home Depot to get more stripper and a new sander, I did manage to get that task done – thank goodness!
After I got back from Home Depot I worked on my door a little more. I found a better scrapper to use and some “fresh” stripper so I’m hoping my project will progress a little faster. I did work on 3 switch plate covers to get to the bottom of that, all 3 of them were covered in white paint. I did have success with that!
David on the other hand accomplished a lot! First he mowed our house and then drove over to LaPorte to do that yard. They both look great, as we got ANOTHER shower around noon. He got the shelves and the sheetrock out of the pantry and we now have NO sheetrock in the house! He found the last of the wallpaper in the house in the pantry and I took one last picture before it was all gone. He also started taking down some of the trim in the kitchen.
His main objective was to work on the tree in the front yard as we have heavy trash pick up scheduled for Thursday/Friday. We sure like to take advantage of curbside trash service!
I am truly blessed; I hope you are blessed by your daily threads. Love and hugs,
Ronda
