AQS Charlotte Bound

Saturday morning Cynthia picked up Sharon and I and we took off and headed for Charlotte. I was lucky and I got to sit in the back and I sat in my little corner of the van and stitched and I even got to take a nap. We drove to Opelika, Alabama and spent the night. I got to finish my first Primitive Gathering Sunflower Gatherings block. These blocks are have a lot more sewing in them are seem to be a little more challenging. It felt good to finish it.

Sunday morning we got off on schedule and made it through Georgia, at the last minute we stopped in Lavonia, Georgia at an antique mall. It was a lot of fun and we did manage to score a few goodies! Then hit South Carolina and then to North Carolina to our finial destination of Charlotte. Cynthia will be teaching and vending at the AQS show beginning Wednesday.

We had a little hotel drama, we had requested a room with two queen beds, but for some reason we only got two double beds. We ended up getting a reduced rate room with another double bed and all is good.

This morning I got up to get in the shower and for some reason I went to flush the toilet and it would not work, I jiggled it and tried to see what was wrong and I thought that it was broke and went on. I went to brush my teeth and realized the water pressure was low but no worries and went on to turn on the shower and NO water except for a trickle! I called the front desk and she told me there was a water main issue close by and they had to turn off all the water! Oh my goodness, we were jinxed at this hotel! We managed to get ready and off we go for our “fun day” in Asheville. We had booked a self-guided tour of the Biltmore Estate and then we scheduled a Segway tour.

The mansion is truly remarkable and a marvel, we got there about 9:20 and walked all around and finished up around noon and headed to the Stable Café for lunch. we finished there and headed directly over to Antler Village for our Segway tour. Oh my goodness, we had a blast and there were so much fun! After that we drove back over to see the gardens and there were amazing as well. We spent all day there and we could have seen more, but it was time to head out – plus we were pretty tired.

Just a side note, Cynthia and I didn’t realize we matched until it was too late. Oh well! 😉

We had a great day and the weather was wonderful, it was 70 degrees here and just perfect here!

After eating and all it was another full day and another one in store for us tomorrow.

I am truly blessed; I hope you are blessed by your daily threads. Love and hugs,
Ronda
