Stuck Like Glue

First off, I want to give a big happy birthday shout out to my great friend, Cathy. She and her family are vacationing in sunny Florida. I told her that we could celebrate when she comes home!

I had better write this fast, as I’m fading fast. This morning was not very productive, I think I walked around the house in a fog trying to figure out what I should do first and I ended up going to get David a new blower that he needed, then went to get me some lunch and then headed over to get my hair cut.

Before I went to the house I went to visit the local hardware store to get a heat gun. This is the 3rd day in a row to go to the hardware store! The only store I like to go 3 days in a row to is a fabric store! 😉 Oh well, I knew the end justifies the means, so off I go!

I didn’t get started until about 3 and I have to say I have a “new best friend”! Oh my word, if you ever need to get up vinyl flooring or anything with a sticky surface, heat it first and it is like magic! Well almost magic, I probably rushed it too much; it would have come up faster if I had heated it up longer before tugging on it. A very important side note – wear gloves! Once the glue heats up, the tiles are hot and I burned my figures a couple of times before I put them on!

David got there after 4 and he got started in the corner to remove the rest of the subfloor in the dining room. He finished that and promptly got to work in the kitchen! The kitchen floor really looks rough, but we hope it will clean up well and thank God there is no vinyl in there!

It is really coming along now, it would really be exciting except I’m so sore, I can hardly move. Hopefully, I will finish pulling up all the sticky tile tomorrow, I think I’m halfway.

We worked until about 7:30 and then we both clean up some and then we like to walk around the house and go over how everything looks.

I am truly blessed; I hope you are blessed by your daily threads. Love and hugs,
Ronda
