Quilt Haus

This post is overdue, trying to get off to Florida and then back to some kind of normal is rough! I went back to work today and I have to admit that I was rusty getting back into my routine! Maybe I will do better tomorrow!

Do you have a quilt journal? When I first started I decided I wanted to list all the quilts I made and I wanted to include my start date and finished date, sometimes I add when they are quilted and if I remember I like to add the size of the top.

Back in April of 2010, David and I went to Boston and I saw this pattern in American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. I wanted to order the kit, but it was sold out, so I decided I could get fabric together myself. I love Minick and Simpson fabric and I really like a lot of their patterns and this is one of them. I started this quilt back in December 2010 and this was the first quilt top I finished in January 2011. The blocks are about 16-inch finished, I sure enjoyed making it, but I guess I can say that about most of my quilt tops.

My best friend, Cathy got a longarm quilting machine back in December and she needed some quilt tops to practice on. Well, lucky for me I have LOTS of tops that need to be quilted!

I showed her my house quilt and she said that would be a great one to work on, so she got it.

Cathy did a great job quilting it. I think this was her third quilt to do and she quilted each house a little different so she could practice different techniques.

I really appreciate all she did and best of all I have a new quilt.

I am truly blessed; I hope you are blessed by your daily threads. Love and hugs,

I enjoy piecing quilts and getting to know people, as well as sharing the information I have on sewing. I love the sense of accomplishment once I'm finished.
