Not much sewing has been going on here the past couple of days. I did a little stitching yesterday, mainly just kicking back. I watched Wyatt yesterday while Katie went to the doctor and I did manage to finish laying out my red and white Lincoln’s Watch by Red Crinoline Quilts. Now I just need to sew up my rows.
About 10:30 this morning David and I started working at mom and dad’s. The plan was for David to work on the huge wisteria piles in the front yard and I was going to use the riding mower to mow the yard. The last time I mowed I was pretty much assaulted by all the low hanging limbs, so I decided to do a little prep work on a couple of the trees. That was a great idea, but I should have done a couple more. I think I did the limbo while going under the other trees, I don’t recall ever doing so much bending and crouching down. I can sure feel it now when I twist and turn. Plus I’ve decided that we really need to invest in some NEW nips and lobbers. The blades are so dull it takes me at least three or four (some even more) clips to make the cuts final.
Dad and Mom treated us to lunch from Chick-fil-a. It was so good! We left about 2:30 and drove to dump off all the limbs that we had cut. Wahoo!
It was good to get home and get cleaned up, I decided to take a nap, while David watched the preseason Dallas Cowboy game. After burgers, I made some chocolate chip cookies. I even splurged and put some pecans in the dough and after a couple of sheets, David suggested that I put dried cranberries in the dough – so I did. He said they were good, but I haven’t tasted of those yet. I ate too many of the other ones! ☺
We have enjoyed our evening watching the preseason Texans game. Of course he has to flip the channels to watch other games too. Does this happen in your home too? Ha!
I am truly blessed; I hope you are blessed by your daily threads, love and hugs.
