Yesterday was pretty productive even though you couldn’t see it. It takes a lot of time to make those silly little circles! I must have counted how many I needed at least 3 times, but somehow I miscounted – I need more than 33, but the good news is I only have 3 more to make, then I can work on the leaves. So it is coming along. I worked on it until 2 or so; and I got a call from Katie to confirm that they were coming for dinner and what Joseph wanted for his birthday dinner. He wanted Poppy seed Chicken and Sister Schubert rolls. I had to kick it into high gear, go to the store and start cooking dinner! Last but not least, was to make a white chocolate cheesecake for dessert, and he requested cherry topping!
David was thoughtful and got my bike ready to go this morning, so I got up at 6 and got ready and I was riding at 7 and feeling pretty optimistic about the ride. You know when I’m on the road all by yourself I have to keep my mind going/thinking about “stuff”. The obvious is the scenery and I was taking in what I could, plus hoping I would hit all the lights GREEN! Well that is a good/bad thing. If you get all green lights you don’t get to stop and rest much, on the upside – you can maintain a constant speed and not have to power down, then up again.
The last time I rode was on 9/22, so I was trying to go steady and do my 26 mile route that I had been doing last year. I’m not sure why I thought I could do this route, not having done anything lately, but I knew I had to do something in order to try and keep up with my neighbor on Tuesday. I started out with my aching knee and before I knew it something else was hurting. In case you didn’t know, I think God gives you other aches and pains so that you forget about your original aches! Oh my word, my seat did NOT like my seat and now my shoulders and arms ache.
Now to get my mind back on the scenery! I got to the halfway spot or my rest stop at Sea Breeze Park in LaPorte. Enjoyed that, but it was getting hot just sitting there (at least it was a normal seat), so time to ride and get home. Plus the best part of the ride is coming up, which is to ride through Morgan’s Point. I love that part, there are a lot of cottage style houses that back up to the bay and I’m just enjoying away and then this dude passes me like I’m standing still. Ugh! Next I ride down Barbour’s Cut Road, I’m thinking I feel the need for speed! Well, that didn’t last a minute! That’s a long road!
Good news is – I made it! I am aching just about everywhere now, not sure what I was thinking, but I have to do better with my exercise program! I’ve got to go and pick up mom to go to the Hallmark store – ornament shopping, it is premier weekend!
I am truly blessed; I hope you are blessed by your daily threads, love and hugs.
